Today was the day we have been preparing for for 4 months and 12 days, but really 19 years, 2 months and 22 days. The packing of all his clothes and items into 2 large suitcases and 1 carry on to survive for the next 2 years went well, nothing last minute, everything done the night before and we all had a fairly decent night sleep. Securing the clothing to place in the suitcases was a bit more challenging. One cannot just walk into a store and purchase conservative business attire to fit a 6'7" narrow framed young man. Everything in the big and tall section is tall but too big and everything in the slim section fit well but is too short. We had to special order most things on line and with lots of store hopping, lots of luck and some divine intervention, found slim white shirts in a medium size with narrow necks and long arms. He did look mighty fine in his slim cut, European tailored suit.

Most families decide to take pictures in some picturesque location or in front of the Provo Temple before they drop off their missionary. We wanted to do something a little more personal, a place that reflects Blake's personality completely, so we headed off to the BYU football stadium.

It does not get any easier with the second child.

See you in two!

Look out Lyon! He's comin' for you!
