The Au Revoir Party

The party to begin the French service ... the Soiree. Blake did a wonderful job with his talk at church and he had several loved ones come hear him speak. Then we had a little get together at our home after for all our friends, family and neighbors. The theme was French, of course, but Southern France/Provence so lots of good Mediterranean influenced items like garlic lemon chicken, lemon bar cookies like Calisson d'Aix, fancy French cheeses and spreads such as brie, camembert, aioli and tepenade, baguettes, of course for all the cheeses and spreads and then crepes. Can't have a French party without crepes. And then lots of beautiful fresh flowers for decoration.

Blake was overwhelmed by the love and support he felt from those that he cherishes the most. Thank you to all who came to send him off and wish him well. We love you and he will miss you.

The Mission Map. At the time that I purchased this 3 years ago to show Trevor's mission, how could I have guessed that it would show all the missions of the men in our family. Pretty awesome!

Notice the store bought key lime pie in the background? Not French and not Provencal, but Blake's absolute favorite so it always has to make an appearance at all family functions.

I made this garland for Trevor's farewell and used it again for his homecoming. I never dreamed that I was going to be able to use it two more times for Blake's farewell and homecoming! Good thing I didn't throw it away!

A little brotherly love for the little sister.

Trevor, "Ahh. French food. How I have missed you!"
